Mookie Katigbak finished her BA at the Ateneo de Manila University in 2001 and her MFA in Creative Writing at the New School University in New York City in 2004. A published poet, her works have appeared in The New York Quarterly, Likhaan, Ideya, The Philippine Graphic, Sunday Inquirer Magazine and Heights.
She has also done readings of her work at the Cornelia Street Cafe in New York City, Mag:net Katipunan, A Different Bookstore, and most recently, the NCCA. Her collection of poems, "The Proxy Eros," won third place at the Palanca Memorial Awards in 2005. She refused the Nobel Prize in 2005 because she had not been nominated.
