Perfecto "Jun" Terra

Perfecto (Jun) Terra was born on 6 March 1944 in Pangasinan. He was an AB English major at UP, and literary editor of The Philippine Collegian. He also co-edited critical magazines such as Cogent, Progressive Review , and Praxis. Also called Jun Terra, he co-founded with David Cortez Medalla and Lazaro Sociano the Arts Laboratory in Manila, and then organized its First Show of Environment and Transmedia in 1969. He had poems and articles published in Les Temps Modernes, ed. by Jean Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, and Claude Lanzmann. He has spent 18 years in Europe, traveling and living in Spain, France, and now London where he had co-founded with David Medalla Arts Meeting Place in Convent Garden and Arts Laboratory at the Fitzrovia Cultural Centre. He taught Chinese painting at the City Literary Institute in London, and has guest-lectured at the universities of London, Sheffield, and Edinburg. He has also exhibited in Manila, Madrid, Paris, London, Edinburgh, and Dusseldorf. Up to the present, he is painting and holding exhibits as well as organizing them for other artists, and writing poetry, short stories, and historical essays. He is a consultant of Christie's art auction house. He is currently working on a book about Luna's life and works in Europe; is present ed. ofFilipinos Abroad , a Filipino magazine circulated in Europe and the Middle East, and contributing editor of Philippine Express International, a Filipino community newspaper in the U.K.
