Siege Malvar

Siege Malvar likes writing in the middle of the night when the whole world finally learns how to shut the eff up. He writes novels for young adults, including the cult hit series "Not Quite Unreal" (Visual Print Enterprises, 2008). As a performance artist, he is known for re-inventing The Balagtasan with his partner-in-rhyme, GP Abrajano.

He was Korean Literature Translation Institute's Filipino writer-in-residence for 2006 under the Asian Cultural Partnership Initiative program of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Recently, he was commissioned by the British Council and Apples & Snakes for the "SPEECHLess" tour, an international poetry event that toured the United Kingdom. SPEECHLess involves new works from 5 artists from the Southeast Asia, and 4 London-based artists. It performed in The Albany (London), The Bluecoat (Liverpool), Bath Spa University, The ARC (Stockton), The Nuffield Theatre (Lancaster University), and finally, as part of the Poetry International Event (where he is also a blogger-in-residence) in London's prestigious Southbank Centre.
